Composition and Creativity
Helloooo my readers..Welcome back! I have been busy learning about different art techniques and this one is about Composition and Proportions of objects. Now you would think whats there to learn in that? I mean imagine writing with a pencil as large as the chair you are sitting on..that is fun rite? Well that's an exaggeration but why would you want to show real objects in the wrong sizes and cause misinterpretations?
For example if you draw a table tennis racket and a ball but you make the ball the size of a cricket ball. How would that look? It wouldn't make any sense unless you are trying to play table cricket or something like that....I hope not!
Keeping things in a visually pleasing composition is as important while drawing as in real life. A great composition will engage your viewers to the center of attraction of the drawing like how the street chat stall with the best smell attracts all the customers. Sorry I'm hungry XD
Thus, you would want an aesthetically pleasing composition!
Shapes and Reflections Color Pencil June 8, 2016 |
This was my first task where we were already composed objects whose photographical images were to be made. The colors also play and important role in the aesthetic part of the composition.
The reflection was made lighter than the object as the objects holds more importance.
Isometric objects Graphite Pencil Shading June 12, 2016 |
The next task was to create a composition with similar isometric objects and shade them accordingly. The objects given were all colored.
Key: The whitest surface is always the lightest color.
Therefore the colors can be predicted!
After these exercises we finally came to the real life object where they were placed in a certain composition and we could chose from which position in the room we wanted to draw it. This composition contained the most random objects like a chair, mop, scarf, 20L bottle, box and a dustbin.
Even though most of these objects made no sense with each other the sole purpose was to understand their proportion with each other and its composition.
